Transmission
The Gen Coupe accepts both manual and automatic LS transmissions with the correct adapter, crossmember, and driveshaft.
Common Pairings
- T56 Magnum XL — most popular manual. Both 2.66 and 2.97 first-gear versions are used. Requires a clutch alignment tool (RAM 26-spline) and pilot bushing (McLeod MRR 8-1094-2 is commonly referenced).
- 4L60E / 4L80E — common automatic choices. 4L80E is stronger for higher power.
- 6L80E — later automatic option with better gearing.
Driveshaft length and yoke type change with the transmission choice. Measure twice.
